NEW YORK — A scary sight on a Delta Airways flight to New York Metropolis was caught on video.
A aircraft that was flying from Edinburgh to New York was compelled to make an emergency touchdown at Glasgow Prestwick Airport shortly after take-off on Friday when flames have been noticed coming from one of many wings, the Glasgow Instances reported.
Passenger Cory McIntosh was on Delta Flight 209 when she captured video of the second the flames started popping out of the wing. Within the video, youngsters can be heard crying within the background.
“It was a really scary scenario, particularly with so many children on board,” McIntosh advised Storyful, including that the crew have been “nice at making an attempt to maintain folks calm.”
“They have been clearly shaken by the scenario however remained skilled and helped a variety of passengers settle down. Can’t fault them,” she stated.
In an announcement reported by the Glasgow Instances, a Delta Air Strains spokesperson stated the flight was diverted following “a mechanical difficulty with one of many plane’s two engines.”
